Does your organization have project resources who are constantly on the move? Do you receive complaints that staff don't have time to track what they're doing in tedious time tracking software? Are you missing out on key details and project revenue as a result? If this is an issue that hits close to home, we have a solution!
TekStack's Time Entry for Mobile app provides a quick, streamlined time entry experience for TekStack project resources while still capturing critical time entry details. This app is perfect for resources like trainers or QA Analysts who move from desk to desk throughout their day supporting colleagues. Also great for resources like technicians and engineers traveling to various sites in a day completing installations and inspections.
Before getting started, resources must install Power Apps mobile app for Android or iPhone from the Play Store.
Please note that the screen shots in this article are taken from a mobile Android emulator and may look different on your device/OS.
Select the Power Apps app on your mobile device.
Within Power Apps, click on the Time Entry app.
When the Time Entry app loads, the user is presented with a list of all their assignments that require time entry - namely project tasks and user stories. There are some sortable filters available as well as a quick keyword search. Users can click on these assignments and log time on them.
Users can also log time by clicking on the + button at the top of the page and selecting the correct assignment on the add form that populates.
Note that the Assignment field will be pre-populated if the user selects an assignment from their list of assignments to log time on instead of clicking the + button.
Fill in all fields and click Save. TekStack will automatically calculate remaining hours, however, the resource can adjust if they feel there is more or less time remaining for the task. It's also important to note that the Description field supports voice-to-text. Simply click into the field, select the microphone, and begin dictating.
Once saved, the user will receive a “your record was saved” message, and the time entry will appear on the project, on various Views, and on the user's timesheet in TekStack.
The navigation pane can be expanded to expose the Appointments option. This will display any appointment activities assigned to the resource in TekStack. Also available here is the notifications menu. Resources will received a notification when -
They are assigned to a user story or project task.
When a time entry is rejected.
