We hear more often than not that sales representatives and managers spend their working hours immersed in Microsoft Teams on calls, chatting, taking notes and reviewing transcript action items; and we understand that sales teams' days can be fast-paced and time consuming. With so much focus placed on building relationships and closing deals, administrative tasks like updating accounts, contacts and opportunities in TekStack can take a back seat despite best efforts. Unfortunately, this most always causes data hygiene issues with downstream impacts. 

 

The TekStack for Teams app is an excellent solution for this problem, as it provides users with a simplified method of reviewing and creating account, contact and opportunity records via Microsoft Teams. Perfect for team members who aren't frequent users of TekStack but are receiving updates and info through their work that should be recorded in TekStack. 

 

Administrator Prerequisites

 

Once TekStack for Teams has been installed in your production environment an administrator must - 

 

 

Access and Usage

 

Navigate to the TekStack for Teams app in Microsoft Teams. Here, the app has been added to a team called Sales.

 

 

Within the app, there are options to create accounts, contacts, and opportunities.

 

 

Clicking on the section titles will launch a simple create form. 

 

Account - selecting the “create contact” toggle exposes a contact create section so that both records can be created from one place.

To create a record, simply fill in the fields and click Submit.

 

 

The record is immediately available in TekStack.

 

 

Team members also have access to their list of open opportunities via TekStack for Teams.

 

 

 

 

The user's list of open opportunities displays in the navigation pane on the left, while a simplified list of pertinent details about the selected opportunity displays on the right. All exposed fields are editable allowing sales reps to quickly adjust values like opportunity stage (status reason) and close date on the fly immediately after (or during!) a call with a prospect or customer. Just like record creation, updates made in TekStack for Teams are immediately reflected in the main TekStack app.
