TekStack is releasing version 2023.12.1 which contains a number of new features and bug fixes.
Common
- TekStack2 App - The TekStack2 is app is now generally available and will be automatically deployed to your production environment. If you have existing customizations to the TekStack app, we have ported those changes to the new app. Your users should switch to TekStack2. Going forward, new fuctionality will only be added to TekStack2 and the original TekStack app will be deprecated in the next release. System Admins will see the new TekStack2 app in production. Regular users must be granted permission to use the app. When you are ready to roll out the app to your users, please contact TekStack Support and we can help you.
- Consistent Views - We cleaned up and renamed all the system views to make them easier to read and understand. We included icons in the views to provide a visual indicator about each one's purpose. We also reviewed and cleaned up the columns in many views to ensure they were correct information, consistent and donot contain any deprecated columns.
- Timeline sort order for activities - The Microsoft Timeline control on Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Projects, Invoices displays related activities. It provides an important history of your company's interactions. By default, the Timeline sorts activities by the activity "Modified On" date which does not always make sense. For example, if an appointment activity took place on Dec 1, but the user did not close the activity until Dec 7, the "Modified On" date = Dec 7 and the Timeline would sort the appointment accordingly. We've updated the sort order to use the date the activity took place, not the date it was most recently modified.
Sales
- Available for New Sequence column on contact - We created a new column to indicate if a contact is available to be added to a new sequence. The column uses a formula to if the user has opted out or not or if they have any running or paused sequences. The columns makes it easier to create views using a simply filter on this one column rather than creating complicated filter structures to achieve the same result.
- Outbound activity form and button clean up - We cleaned up the outbound activity form, removing duplicated information and making it generally more presentable and easier to use. We also cleaned up the buttons to make it easier to close the activity, directly from the form or from a list. We also removed the ability to close a manual email activity without sending the email. Now, users must send the manual email or cancel the sequence. Closing a manual email without sending it was causing a problem later in the sequence.
- Partner Deal Teams notification - We added a Teams notification for new partner deals. This is in addition to the email notifications already in the app. Now a Teams notification can be sent to a channel notifying the channel that there is a new deal. Partner managers can use Teams to monitor the channel for notifications.
- Add to Sequence Button Message to prevent double clicking - We added performance improvements and validation to the "Add to Sequence" button. Previously, users sometimes double clicked the button because it appeared as if nothing was happening, resulting in double adding.
Revenue
- Reopen and generate revenue from lost renewal opportunity - Lost renewal opportunities can now be reopened and closed as won to generate the order, subscriptions, invoices and revenue. Previously, when a renewal opp was closed as lost, it "completed" the subscription and it could not be reversed. Now if an renewal opp is accidentally closed as lost or if a customer changes their mind, users can easily reverse the changes and reactivate the subscription.
- Subscription revenue Power BI dashboard in the TekStack2 navigation - The subscription revenue Power BI dashboard has been added to the navigation menu for TekStack2.
- AR Aging column and chart - There is a new formula column on invoice that determines the age of the invoice by comparing the due date to today's date. The formula result is Current, <30, <60, <90 or 90+. There is corresponding invoice aging chart that shows the amount and count by aging status.
Delivery
- Project, Task, User Story form clean up - the Project, Project Task, User Story and RAID item forms have been overhauled to reorganize and clean up the presentation of information. The forms now make use of subtabs to organize information. If you had customizations to the forms, your changes have been ported to the new layout. The project task and user story views available from "My Work" have been streamlined for project resources. They only contain the information required to perform work. Please review the changes in your test environment and communicate the changes to your users so they won't be surprised by the changes, which are signficant.
- Project Timeline control - The Timeline control did not correctly show emails and appointments. It has been corrected to display those activities. Project Teams should ensure they sync Outlook with TekStack to capture these activities and use the "Set Regarding" in the Outlook plugin or directly on the activity to related and appointments to projects to maintain a communication history.
- Read only Gantt control for the portal - A read only, portal friendly version of the project Gantt schedule is available. The control can be deployed to the portal to visually display the project schedule and progress to your customers. Portal users can export the schedule to PDF or Excel for futher analysis.
Help Desk
- Case form clean up - the TekStack version of the Case form has been cleaned up and reorganized to better present information to users. The form now makes us of subtabs. If you had customizations on the form, your changes have been ported to the new layout.
DevOps Integration Beta Release
We are excited to announce the beta release of an integration between TekStack and Azure DevOps. Today, we support one use case: synchronizing DevOps Bugs and relating them to TekStack Cases. New DevOps Bugs can be created from a Case. Previously created DevOps Bugs can be linked to other Cases. Existing Bugs in Azure DevOps can be synced to TekStack. If you are interested to participate in Beta testing, please contact TekStack support.
