A time sheet in TekStack is where you log and confirm your time in preparation for approval. If you want to get paid, this has to be done and we want to make it as efficient as possible.

You can enter a time entry in different ways. See Log Time Entries to learn more.

One important method is to use a timesheet. It lists all the tasks and user stories you have been assigned. You can enter time easily and quickly next to your assigned work items on different projects.
All the hours you enter in your time sheet are automatically logged against the project. Any edits you make are updated in the project.

Create a new time sheet

  1. From the left navigation, click Time Sheets.
  2. Choose your view. Views will default to All Time Sheets – Last 6 months. If you're a project manager, you’ll also see My Team's Timesheets.
  3. To add a new Time Sheet, click the + icon.
  4. Choose any date for the Time Sheet—it will automatically set it up for the week of that date. For example, if you choose March 16 and click Save, the time sheet will be called Week of March 13.

Note: On the list of Timesheets, when you have added information and saved the sheet, you will see it updating on the main list. You won’t be able to access it while it is Updating.

Remaining time

You can also see hours remaining on a task or user story. Those hours will keep showing up until you address it in one of the following ways:

  • by completing the task – you might not be able to complete a task. This would depend on your security access.
  • adjusting the remaining hours – adjust them to zero for them to disappear.
  • logging the time – after you have done the work, log the time to reduce remaining hours to zero.

Edit the remaining hours in a work item

In the Remaining column on the row associated with the Task or User Story where you have hours booked, you will see a number. The pencil icon means that field is editable.

  1. Type the estimated number of hours left to completion.
  2. Click Save.
